Thanks again for signing up to use Pupil Gateway on The PE Classroom over the coming months. I strongly believe that if used in the right way, the platform will be hugely beneficial for you and your pupils (especially for those taking exams in June/May!).

In order to ensure that you are using Pupil Gateway effectively, I will send you a brief email each week with our 'PG Tips' (tips for using Pupil Gateway - no tea will be sent unfortunately).

PG Tips - Edition 1

Get pupils and parents on board with Pupil Gateway. After you have your pupils set-up, I recommend sending out an email/letter to parents. Pupil Gateway can/should be used in school but pupils will also get great benefit from using the site at home, either for homework, individual study or revision. If parents are also encouraging this then you are laughing! Feel free to copy and edit the text below which can be used to form the basis of a letter or email.

"Dear Parent/Carer,

I would like to inform you that as a PE department we have recently started using a platform called The PE Classroom, which will supplement learning for pupils taking Insert Course Name Here.

Your child has been given a login to access The PE Classroom. After logging in they will need to go to the Pupil Gateway area where they will then be able to make use of a range of learning and assessment materials such as videos, slideshow presentations, quizzes, online exam questions and overview sheets.

We may well ask for work to be completed on this platform either at school or at home but we also strongly recommend that your child makes use of the site for individual study/revision where possible. This individual work could include as little as 10-20mins per week and will complement the work that we complete in school.

The PE team will continue to encourage your child to use The PE Classroom. If you are also able to give them a gentle nudge towards the platform, it will be much appreciated"

You may of course wish to edit the above but hopefully it acts as a starting point for getting parents on board and ensuring that pupils are maximising their use of Pupil Gateway!
