This time of year really does offer some magnificent sporting events in the UK. As The Ashes looks set to continue to captivate over the next couple of months, we also have Wimbledon and The Open to look forward to over the coming weeks.

This week's Starter looks at some of the most traditional sporting events taking place in the UK each year. Your pupils are asked to research one of these events before considering whether the UK is 'the home of sport'. Cue discussion!
