I hope you have had a good start to the summer term. We are reaching the business end of the year as the revision and exam prep really start to hot up. I hope this week's Starter helps to provide a quick break from the exam focus by spending a few minutes looking at sport in a wider cultural context.

The Grand National was full of controversy last weekend as animal rights activists protested against horse racing. This week's Starter asks your pupils to consider whether horse racing is animal cruelty or part of British culture. Cue discussion!
