The Truth About Your Staffing Shortage
Nov 21, 2025 5:01 pm
Hi there,
If you’re reading this, you entered one of our giveaways a while back, which means you’re part of this community of people who love children enough to keep going… even on the daysyears when everything feels like a fire drill.
And if lately you’ve been feeling the weight of the staffing crisis in a fresh, new way, you’re not alone.
Staffing shortages are now an industry-wide reality.
When teachers burn out faster than you can post a job opening…
When enrollment has to drop because you can’t hit ratio…
When you have to step into classrooms instead of working on your business…
When your leadership hat gets swapped for a “float teacher” hat way too often…
It’s because the system is stretched beyond its limit.
The internet is telling the truth for you.
Childcare TikTok has been a whole mood lately.
A few days ago I saw a video of a teacher hiding under a desk, holding a walkie-talkie, with the on-screen text:
“POV: when you called for behavior support but no one came.”
With HUNDREDS of teachers in the comments saying it was relatable.
And then there’s our own TikTok that’s STILL going — now past 20K views — where I play the teacher, my interns play the kids, and as soon as I announce a transition they take off running like it’s the Olympics.
The comments are full of teachers saying things like:
“The minute my kids hear ‘time to clean up’ half of them stand in a choir and sing the clean up song WITHOUT ACTUALLY CLEANING UP.”
That comment alone tells a whole story. When we ask "how do you deal with transitions" we hear SO many "I made a Spotify playlist" or "I play music"
Everyone is trying the same old “calm down” routines.
But none of it is actually fixing the meltdown moments, the overstimulation, or the transition chaos that burns teachers out the fastest.
This is exactly why Fruit Snack Streams exists.
We’re building Fruit Snack Streams to solve one of the biggest root causes of classroom chaos instead of replicating the same surface-level symptoms.
What’s been wild is seeing how much this idea resonates.
Just last week, a childcare center in Nigeria signed up to try it.
Nigeria.
If that doesn’t show how universal these pain points are, I don’t know what does.
Directors everywhere — big centers, small centers, home-based programs, Head Start partners, rural, overseas — all keep saying the same thing:
“We need REAL support in the classroom… not another training, not another checklist.”
And that’s exactly what FSS is built to be.
A tool that fits into your existing routines.
A tool that helps kids regulate before behavior escalates.
A tool that makes transitions calmer instead of chaos-triggering.
A tool that empowers your teachers and keeps them longer.
A tool that reduces your need to constantly jump into classrooms.
A tool that gives you back your day (and your staff their sanity).
Our Beta Test Cohort for Q1 2026 is officially FULL.
And the directors who made it in?
They’re about to get early access to a tool that:
- directly supports teacher retention
- reduces stress in the most chaotic parts of the day
- improves emotional climate
- simplifies transitions
- lowers burnout
- and gives them data on what’s actually calming their classrooms
Emotionally, they’ll feel supported, confident, and less isolated.
Logically, they’ll have fewer incidents, fewer behavior escalations, quieter rooms, and more stable staffing.
And when FSS goes live next year, they’ll be way ahead of everyone else.
