My Twitter feed is rampant with videos of shoplifters looting big retailers for everything from electronics to makeup to high priced meats.
These criminals aren’t just hungry homeless people like the left routinely makes them out to be.
No.
They’re usually organized thugs taking advantage of our country’s laxed laws and inability to call foul when we see a bunch of masked banditos grabbing whatever looks shiny and worth a darn; most likely for black market resale.
These are full scale operations in most cases that Americans are supposed to turn a blind eye to. Or risk being labeled a RaCIsT, bIGoT - you know the drill.
Those who somehow defend these crooks are just playing on our country's willingness ‘to be nice’ no matter the ultimate costs.
How’s that for “Build Back Better,” America?
I call it tactical empathy, because the left knows calling us names for simply pointing out what’s right in front of our eyes - like 'stealing is bad' - is much easier than taking blame for failed progressive policies.
Even the big retailers are playing this silly little political game.
Target, for example, admits theft is a real problem and ‘hot-button issues’ within the industry. But instead of calling out this blatant decay of our once respected Western civilization, Target (along with Walgreens, Home Depot, etc.), is instead, just going to just plan for more losses.
$500 million to be exact. HUH?
Some quick math: Target reported $763 million in losses last year. Meaning a $500 million jump would put the company above $1.2 BILLION; a 65% increase.
So let me get this straight: thugs LOOT retailers, don’t get punished because society did this to them (or something), so hard-working Americans have to foot the BILL to avoid being labeled intolerant.
Heck, that all sounds about right - who am I kidding?
Just search “shoplifter at Target” on Twitter – or any other big retailer for that matter – for an ongoing feed of thieves simply getting away with their crimes.
Retailers, I guess, find it cheaper to just incorporate this rise in lost goods into its earnings call than to go against the woke mob. Make question: Doesn’t anyone at these FOR-PROFIT companies have at least a little courage?
Target CEO Brian Cornell says: “The problem affects all of us, limiting product availability, creating a less convenient shopping experience, and putting our team and guests in harm’s way.”
Home Depot CFO Richard McPhail says: “The country has a retail theft problem. We’re confident in our ability to mitigate and blunt that pressure, but that pressure certainly exists out there.”
Point is, organized retail crime is affecting everybody even if we don't see its ugly ramifications right away - just like immigration.
Eventually more people will take notice to our dying way of life, but by that time, it will be too late. Some retailers have moved out of certain areas, but the problem goes much further than the confines of places like San Francisco. This spread of lawlessness in general is plaguing the nation as a whole. And law-abiding consumers will pay the biggest price. Especially amidst growing.
Big retailers know what the problem is. Yet they're too cowardly to do anything besides side with leftists who say America's middle class is the problem.
We can blame inflation for rising costs as much as we want. But at some point we have to address how much of an impact crime is having on these companies' bottom lines. And ultimately ours.
