A quick programming note. Long before I started The Goldbackers a family vacation was planned for next week. So I will be "out of the office" from the middle of next week, till about 4-27. Goldbacks are not like Pet Rocks that do nothing!
Famously, Warren Buffet once remarked that gold is akin to a “pet rock” that doesn’t yield any tangible returns. He was referring to the dividends or interest earned on his investments, which contributes to growing his share of the pie. Then, I came across an online discussion about the Goldback Lease Program, which actually pays interest in Goldbacks, on GBs that are on deposit! Therefore, it is indeed possible to earn interest on your Goldbacks, allowing your share of the pie to continue growing too!
Now, to be honest, there are several ways to earn Goldbacks on your GBs. While I trust all the ones I have my money in, here at The Goldbackers, I’ll discuss one of the most common and widely known methods: The Goldback Lease Program by Alpine Gold and the United Precious Metals Association (UPMA).
The process is straightforward: open an account, fund it, and purchase Goldbacks. Now decide how many GBs you want to lease, and open a Goldback Lease for them. This is all done on your account web page. You can expect to earn a +2% annual interest rate on your Goldbacks, which will be credited to your account in Goldbacks! While 2% may not seem like a significant amount, remember that it’s paid in Goldbacks, not US dollars that are losing -20% a year! Of course, you can withdraw your GBs, or the equivalent in USD, at any time.
