RANUNCULUS SWEATER KNIT-A-ALONG

Sat, Oct 15, Nov 5, and Nov 26                            1-4 pm                                                                       Free

Fri, Oct 21, and Nov 11

The Ranunculus Pattern by Midori Hirose is extremely popular on Ravelry with over 13,000 projects completed! This is another versatile pattern that is top down, can be short or long sleeve, and you have the option on the amount of ease you want to build in. The pattern description notes: “You can use lace, light fingering to worsted weight yarn. The degree of transparency depends on the weight of yarn. Knitting with thin yarn on big needle gives light, transparent and airy texture to this pullover. Using thicker yarn or holding two yarns together adds more weight, and more structured look.”  Intermediate skill level.  We’ll be continuing this class through October and November.

HAT AND MITTEN KNIT-A-LONG

Fri, Oct 14 and Nov 18                                        1 to 4 pm                                                                     Free

Sat, Oct 29 and Nov 12

Are you a beginning or novice knitter or crocheter who would like to learn to work a project in the round.  Then join us for this class to learn first how to knit a hat on one circular needle and then step up to using two circular needles or magic loop to work the top of the hat and the mittens.  Patterns will be easy stocking caps with your choice of with or without ear flaps.  Mittens also be easy standard mittens.  Both patterns are easily adaptable to different weights of yarn.  Crocheters will learn an easy crochet linen stitch hat that by using two colors will create a vertical stripe.

CHRISTMAS STOCKINGS

Fri Oct 28                                                                  1 to 4 pm                                                                Free

Here’s an easy way to learn all the techniques for knitting socks but using worsted weight yarn and size 7 or 8 needles. Beginners can try a simple two-color sock with a single color for the leg and foot and a contrasting color for the cuff, heel and toe.  Learn to knit in the round, how to form the heel and toe, etc.  If you’re feeling more adventurous, try your hand at a fair-isle design.

FELTED SLIPPERS
