WWU 22: I want to give empathy to my kid, but we need to get to school!!
Dec 22, 2021 6:24 am
Happy Wednesday, Happy Holidays!
The Holidays are upon us and we'd like to talk about celebrations and mournings. We'd love to think that the holiday season equates to celebrations. But, in reality, this time of year can be difficult for some or a mixed bag of highs and lows.
So, how do we just keep all of this to celebrating needs and/or mourning needs - rather than getting lost in our judgmental thoughts. Whenever you notice emotions arising in situations, positive or negative can you tie them strictly to a need? A need that you are mourning not being met or celebrating being met.
And notice how this is for you. What does this clarity bring up for you? If you're up for it let's give this a try this holiday season.
I'm back home as I'm writing this and have tried this a couple times today. While sadness has come up when I'm mourning a need, there is something encouraging and enlightening about the clarity for me.
I'd love to hear how it is for you!
