WWU 10: Intro Course Opening Soon, and Sharing Power with Youth

Sep 22, 2021 7:07 pm

Happy Wednesday!

Welcome back to our Weekly Wednesday Update (WWU). We're going to go in a little bit of a different order this week because we are ... drumroll ... launching our next, and probably last one for a while, public Intro Course cohort! And also we could use your help, deciding on a time for the weekly live session, as well as passing it along with anybody you know who may be interested.

Then, we'll go into this week's podcast episode where I share my experiences at running the Restorative Justice program, Community Connections, and give you some tips on communicating and building rapport with youth using NVC. And of course, we finish off with our upcoming Empathy Gym schedule. But first...

🚀 We're launching a new Intro Course cohort

Are you looking to improve your communication, deepen your connection with others, build stronger relationships, and possibly start a new career?

We need your help deciding on a time to run the live session each week. If you are planning on signing up for the cohort please fill out this form to let us know when you're available to meet each week. Please select all times you are available to meet.

If you're wondering what you will learn in this course or you're on the fence, this course is the culmination of my 10+ years working in NVC and, more importantly, I think you’re going to learn a ton from it. This is everything I wish I had learned in the beginning to get myself up and running in NVC. And now we're sharing it with you…

In This Course You Will Learn

  • How to create emotional safety by using needs rather than blame and judgment
  • How to help others experience being heard and experience being heard yourself through empathy for others rather than other conversational responses
  • How to create connection from conflict, instead of disconnection by using silent empathy and the NVC dance floor
  • How to get clarity in your communication through using observations and feelings rather than evaluations and thoughts
  • How to get your needs met through requests rather than demands
  • How to find calm and compassion when you’re triggered by using WAIT and self-empathy

Each week you'll have about an hour of self-paced materials and videos to go through and then you'll come together with the rest of your cohort for a live session with Jordan, one of our Facilitators, to review and practice what you've learned from that week.

If you're looking to sign up please fill out this form to let us know when you're available to meet each week. And if you know anyone that could be interested feel free to share with them!
