Full Moon in Taurus and More!

Nov 29, 2025 11:51 pm

Dear Friend,

The last few months have been slow and frustrating, marked by retrogrades, but the weeks ahead leading into 2026 promise a renewed journey. We’ll face situations that demand growth, key decisions, letting go of what no longer serves us, honouring our responsibilities, and still attending to our inner desires by fulfilling small, personal aspirations. These experiences will unfold in unexpected ways. Time will clarify many uncertainties and help clear what needs to be cleared, making now the perfect moment to take charge and move forward.

Mercury’s direct motion in late Libra and its journey through Scorpio will feel like sailing through turbulent waters, only this time with seasoned experience. Mercurial challenges will resolve naturally, as we know how to handle them, provided we remain clear, honest, and precise in our communication. There’s no need to halt or delay; instead, we simply need to remove obstacles and keep moving forward.

As promised, I'm on schedule to release the Saturn in Pisces guide, valid through May 2027, and I'll make it available in three weeks so you can enter 2026 with greater confidence and clarity.

Full Moon in Taurus

December 4, 2025

The Full Moon in Taurus brings a strong focus on family, finances, and self-worth, highlighting where we may need to make grounded yet difficult choices. Its exact square to the lunar nodes introduces inner imbalance, pushing us to examine the difference between desires and genuine needs. This lunation indicates caution in spending and provides an opportunity for us to reassess financial habits, especially if Mercury retrograde had delayed purchase decisions that now feel urgent. Themes of stability, security, and emotional grounding surface, urging us to reconsider how we value ourselves and where boundaries need rebuilding. Saturn’s direct motion and Mars’ opposition to the Moon charges up the emotions, making it clear that some patterns, obligations, or comforts are no longer in line with who we’re becoming.

At the same time, this Full Moon acts as a catalyst for necessary transformation. With Saturn stationing direct and Venus in Scorpio prompting decisive emotional choices, we’re pushed to let go of outdated responsibilities and reclaim internal peace. The friction created by the nodes reflects a moment where clarity emerges through tension, much like Arjuna confronting a moral crossroads in the battlefield. These pressures may show up in personal dilemmas of a parent, balancing a child’s needs against financial realities. This lunation helps us understand or realise that real abundance comes from within, and the choices we make now, even small ones like adjusting a daily routine that can possibly lay the groundwork for deeper resilience and a more grounded sense of self as we move into 2026.

The Chosen Moment

The election for this letter is 2 December 2025 at 09:33:02 (Chennai, India)

I’ve prepared a file covering 38 time zones so you can use this election without needing to convert anything or calculate the Ascendant degree. This is especially helpful if you’re not an astrologer. If your time zone isn’t listed in the spreadsheet, just let me know and I’ll add it. Please use "Find Your Time" button to access the file.

This election works best for small, practical tasks rather than anything substantial. With Capricorn rising, Rahu in the 2nd house supports minor financial organisation, like reviewing expenses or tidying up small budget items, while Saturn in the 3rd house is steady for short communications and necessary messages that needs to be sent. Jupiter retrograde in the 7th house is helpful for revisiting ongoing partnerships or asking for measured support without initiating anything new. With Ketu in the 8th house, this is a good time to clear hidden clutter, delete old files, or simplify routines. Mercury in the 10th house favours light administrative work, planning, and organising schedules, and the Venus–Sun–Mars conjunction in the 11th house is ideal for intentional, selective social actions such as updating a profile or reconnecting with one meaningful contact. This election is suited for maintenance, review, organisation and progress in the small corners of daily life.

Inward Glance

Epictetus' Discourses: A Retelling

Book I, Chapter 6, 1.6.10 to 1.6.16

Epictetus makes this organic shift from the body to the mind, inviting us to look at something even more astonishing than physical design. He asks us to consider the way the mind works. When we encounter things in the world, the mind does not just receive impressions passively. It selects from them, combines them, compares them, rejects some, and draws connections between others. From one idea it can arrive at another, even if the second is not directly in front of us. This ability to move from impression to understanding is remarkable. It shows a level of craftsmanship in our nature that is hard to dismiss.

Epictetus asks a simple question. Can such a skilful structure really be accidental? If we find it hard to imagine a sword and scabbard appearing without an artisan, how can we claim that the human mind, which is far more impressive, assembled itself without intention behind it? If we reject the idea of a creator, then we must explain how the mind came to possess such a subtle and powerful set of abilities. For him, the harmony of our mental faculties points naturally to divine intelligence.

He then asks whether human beings are the only ones with these skills. We know that animals also have impressions, memories, and instincts. They can sense danger and respond to it. They can communicate, learn simple patterns, and survive in their environments. They share many of these with us. But Epictetus says there is one important difference. Animals use their impressions, but they do not understand them. They act on what they see and feel, but they do not step back and reflect on the meaning of what they experience.

Human beings, however, can understand their impressions. We can question them, think about them, and reason with them. This ability to reflect sets us apart. Epictetus says that God needed creatures who could simply use impressions, like animals. But God needed humans for something more. Humans were given the gift of understanding so that we could recognise the order in the world and appreciate the intelligence behind it.

Because of this unique capacity, Epictetus says that it is not enough for us to live like animals. For animals, it is sufficient to eat, drink, sleep, mate, and survive. That is the full extent of their purpose. But for human beings, this is not enough. We have been given the capacity to understand, and so our lives must reflect that. If we do not use this gift, we fall short of our purpose.

He says that different creatures have different constitutions, and therefore different ends. Animals are designed for use. Their senses and nature allow them to live out their natural tasks. We, however, have been given the additional power to “reason” and “reflect”. And because of this, our purpose is higher. We are meant not only to live but to contemplate the world, to understand our place in it, and to appreciate the order and intelligence woven into everything.

The Joli-Aswin Show

You probably know that my friend Joli Knott and I launched a podcast, and we’re now nearing the end of Season 1 as we prepare to release Episode 12. Recently, we explored the 12th parts and then moved into the Nakshatras. Joli’s work with the 12th parts has been genuinely refreshing, as has her approach to the lunar nodes. We’d love to hear what you think of the show. If you enjoy the podcast, please consider rating it on your preferred platform. It helps more people discover our work.

I don’t use the outer planets in my own work, but many astrologers do, and they form an important part of the evolutionary astrology tradition. The upcoming Saturn–Neptune conjunction in February 2026 is the next big thing in the Western astrology community right now. Everyone is talking about it, but very few speak about it in an experiential, lived manner the way my friend Meghna Bhagat did in her free webinar for Kepler College. Her presentation held the audience completely; she has a rare gift for translating astrological symbolism into something you can actually feel and understand. Meghna is offering a weekend workshop on this topic in January 2026, and it’s well worth attending.

With so many ingresses this month and most of them in Sagittarius, I hope a wider perspective opens up for you, helping you move forward with whatever you’re aiming for. Things are unfolding exactly as they’re meant to. All we need to do is stay the course and embrace each step, whether it feels like a pause or progress.

I wish you a wonderful December!
