Hey Ho, Tenebrous Cult!
In 2022, when the Texas government began taking steps to criminalize trans youth and their families, we conceived and produced an anthology of New Weird Horror from an all-trans and gender nonconforming lineup of writers and artists in less than three months.
That means: the idea was conceived on February 23rd; a full open submissions call two days later, followed by reading hundreds of submissions, cover art, editing, interior illustrations, formatting, file uploading, marketing, preorders, printing and shipping, all in less than three months. On May 16th, YOUR BODY IS NOT YOUR BODY was released.

In that first year we raised over $10,000, first for Equality Texas and later the Trevor Project, a feat that was absolutely possible due to the fact that social media had not yet become completely worthless for marketing; the pre-Musk Twitter undeniably played a huge role in YOUR BODY IS NOT YOUR BODY's success.
We're a little older now, and we might not be moving at quite the same reckless breakneck speed getting this volume out (well, we still move pretty quick actually! But we're juggling a lot more titles, year after year, including continuing to work with friends we met in the pages of YB=/=YB!). Social media is no longer our friend. But that doesn't mean the fight isn't still ongoing.
