Fall Into IPL Season!
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is a revolutionary skin treatment designed to target a range of skin concerns. By using broad-spectrum light to penetrate the skin, IPL effectively addresses brown spots, sun damage, redness, and broken blood vessels. This non-invasive treatment not only improves skin texture and tone, but also stimulates collagen production as an added anti-aging benefit.
As we embrace the cooler days and shorter nights, it’s the ideal time to address brown spots, sun damage, and broken blood vessels with IPL therapy. This quick and effective treatment offers minimal discomfort and downtime. Here’s how to make the most of your IPL sessions:
1. Prioritize Sun Protection
Use a tinted mineral sunscreen daily, both before and after your treatment, and continue to wear it long-term. This will prevent new spots and combat photoaging. We recommend Alastin, Elta MD, and Tizo sunscreen brands.
2. Complement with Additional Treatments
For persistent pigmentation, consider combining IPL with other skin-enhancing treatments. A chemical peel or microneedling can accelerate pigment fading and collagen stimulation, while a Diamond Glow facial two weeks post-IPL helps boost hydration and a healthy glow.
3. Schedule Wisely
Plan your IPL treatments 3 to 4 weeks apart to allow your skin to heal and pigment to fade effectively. Most of our patients complete 2-4 sessions of IPL. Start in the fall to complete your treatments before the brighter days of spring.
4. Address Underlying Issues
Pigmentation can stem from various sources, such as rosacea or acne scars. Dr. Dintiman, our expert medical and cosmetic dermatologist, can develop a personalized treatment plan to address both pigmentation and its underlying causes.
