Well, what a week it has been. Here in the UAE, KHDA (the regulators for education in Dubai) have set out the amounts of holidays schools can have and this means that there are less holidays when compared to when I first moved out. Unfortunately, Eid holidays landed early into this term giving us a long weekend but after 8 weeks of teaching and learning, both teachers and children are pretty wiped; however, the show must go on.

This week, I've been delving more and more into using AI in the classroom by using Amazon's Echo Dot Alexa Feature.

Here are 3 ways I use it in the classroom.

1. Trivia Challenges: Utilize Alexa's knowledge base to create interactive quizzes for students. Alexa can pose questions on various subjects, allowing students to test their knowledge and engage in friendly competition. This activity promotes active learning, encourages critical thinking, and adds an element of excitement to the classroom.
2. Vocabulary Boost: Leverage Alexa's language capabilities to help students expand their vocabulary. Students can ask Alexa for word meanings, synonyms, or engage in vocabulary-building games. This interactive approach to learning new words enhances language skills and encourages students to become more proficient communicators.
3. Storytelling Assistance: Alexa can assist in storytelling sessions by adding sound effects or background music. Students can interact with Alexa to enhance their storytelling experiences, fostering creativity and imagination. This activity also encourages students to develop oral communication skills and engage in collaborative storytelling.
