Dear ,
πΈ Spring has sprung and Iβm glad for it. As I get older, the return of green, flowers and warmth somehow becomes more meaningful. I never thought Iβd be so nostalgic for these things, but the newness we can see all around really speaks to me and causes me to βprune my habitsβ and do some personal interior βspring cleaningβ. π§Ή
Spring Cleaning on the Inside
I usually share a personal story in my newsletter, but this time, I want to talk about some inward changes inspired by our new home and, believe it or not, the kumquat tree π gifted by some dear friends. It's been amazing to watch this plant adapt to its new spot on our little terrace.
Despite having been pretty happy in our old house, the tree started dropping a lot of leaves when we moved into our new place last December. But with the steady spring sunshine, I noticed tiny green buds...they seemed to pause for a while. Then, in a burst of overnight growth, several new clusters of leaves appeared! It's been exhilarating to watch.
This has me reflecting on myself. In my 20s, I spent lots of time analyzing my behavior and striving for that Aristotelian balance of virtue β the golden mean, as they called it. I believe extremes, whether good or bad, can be harmful. Yet, the busyness of my 30s seemed to put that inner work on hold. It was all about staying afloat, without time for deep reflection.
Now, in my 40s, with our house finally finished and us settled in, I feel rooted again. I have space to think, reflect, and work on myself. Interestingly, I'm even back to playing the piano daily β a practice I used to use for relaxation and emotional processing. πΉ
So for me, this spring isn't just about the Earth turning green. It's about internal growth too. I'm excited to nurture this newness while also pruning myself into the person I'm meant to be. I believe that's a universal goal, isn't it?
I hope this spring brings renewal for you as well β not just the flowers and warmer weather βοΈ, but an inward blossoming and a chance to find peace within.
