You know I’m a homeschool advocate through and through, right? I truly believe that homeschool parents are capable of personally teaching or facilitating pretty much every subject while hovering around the kitchen table.

Science can be a tricky one to handle at home. You can easily do enough to get by, but providing a solid science education is another story. That’s why I want to share a few reasons you may want to outsource science this year.

1 - You can’t devote needed attention or time to complex subjects – Let’s face it: some subjects require more time and focus. Science usually falls into that category, especially once you get to the middle school and high school years. If you don’t have the time and attention to teach science on these levels, outsourcing could be the right solution for you.

2 - You don’t enjoy a subject. – Unless you’re a saint (and most of us aren’t), you probably won’t be able to give a subject you don’t personally enjoy the attention it needs. So, if science isn’t your jam, teaching science probably won’t be your jam either.

Until you fall in love with science, consider outsourcing it. Letting your students learn from someone who GETS it and ENJOYS science can be a game-changer.

3 - Your budget, space, or time constraints prevent you from doing the experiments. – Science is a subject that requires engagement beyond books and worksheets. If you can’t pull off the experiments and demonstrations for whatever reason, outsourcing can be a great way to ensure your kids don’t miss these aspects of science.
