Hello
A sense of psychological safety is key to a high-performing employee, it generates greater commitment, motivation to deal with challenging situations, more possibilities in learning and development, and increased productivity.
Here’s How to Create It💪
1. Approach conflict as a collaborator, not an adversary. Be conscious of it in your verbal and non-verbal communication.
2. Speak to people. Each team that confronted what is universal, such as respect, skill, social standing, and autonomy, underlies this encounter. Naturally, recognizing this underlying need creates confidence and promotes good language and conduct.
3. Anticipate reactions and plan countermoves. Skillfully confront difficult conversations head-on by preparing for likely reactions.
4. Replace blame with curiosity. If team members sense that you’re trying to blame them for something, they become defensive. InsteadEngage them in exploration.
5. Asking for feedback on your message, sheds light on blind spots in communication abilities and failure models that enhance confidence in leadership.
6. Measure psychological safety by periodically asking people how safe people they feel.
