Good Morning! Tomorrow is Christmas Eve! We will report on today's auctions but with no action on Christmas Eve or Christmas day, the next time we hit your inbox after tomorrow will be Tuesday. So Santa, Baby, slip a GT under the tree, for me.

THE MARKET
Sell-Through Rate: 73%
Market Volume ($): $862,617
Market Volume (units): 15
- A little bit of a lift in the sell-through rate yesterday as markets continue to stay quiet as we lead up to the holiday. Three cars in the six-figures are fairly light as well as the last few days have been void of any heavy hitters.

SPOTLIGHT

While yesterday's Sportmatic proved that the rare 'automatic' transmission of the late '60s is a ticket to higher values, the modern market for manuals outpaces slushboxes and PDK. But by how much?
Our Spotlight car, a 2011 911 Turbo Cabriolet with 6-speed transmission is the last of an era for manual Turbo cars as the final 997 Turbo S' and beyond were only offered with PDK. With a low 10,000 miles, had the car been equipped with a PDK transmission we would have expected bids somewhere around $100-110,000. But with a 6-speed, we expected this car to breeze past $140,000 to somewhere in the neighborhood of $150-160,000.
Unfortunately, the breeze wasn't blowing and the car failed to meet the reserve at $135,000. A softening market, holiday slow-down, and possibly the Sand Beige interior hurt the chances of this car meeting reserve. I'd expect the selling dealer to keep it in inventory and give her a shot in the spring as this example is definitely worth a bit more.
NOTEWORTHY SALES
- One of 267 factory widebody coupes, the higher miles pushed this 1994 911 C4 widebody's price into the reasonable territory at $148,000.
- The interior alone is a reason to celebrate the winning bid of $14,944 on this 1988 Porsche 944 Celebration Edition.
- Sold in May of 2020 for $65,500 in stock form, this 1990 911 Carrera 4 was then backdated over the last two years with every surface, nut, and bolt touched. With the amount of work that went into this build, I'm not sure the seller (also the builder) made out like a bandit at $280,000. Well-bought IMO.
NEW LISTINGS
- This will mark the second time in 3 months this 200-mile 2016 Boxster Spyder has been offered at auction. The last time resulted in no sale.
- Here's a very well-spec'd 2015 Targa 4S in Jet Black Metallic over Garnet Red leather and 20" Turbo wheels.
- 7,000 miles is all this 1995 911 Coupe has driven in 27 years. Someone please buy it and drive it like it was meant to be driven.
