Good Morning! Wow wow wow what a day. Huge numbers from Paris and a 100% sell-through rate on Bring a Trailer gave us one of the best days in the market in a long time.

SPOTLIGHT
Take the already rare Porsche 964 Carrera RS with only 2,276 produced, whittle it down to roughly 280 produced by making it an even more hardcore racing variant, the N/GT, and then add the M003 racing safety devices option code and what you have is one of the rarest 964s ever made.
While the standard Carrera RS has softened a bit in the last few months, cars with similar mileage to the 1992 Porsche 964 Carrera RS M003 N/GT pictured above are still bringing on an average of $225,000. So one would expect a rare bird like our Spotlight car to easily be a $300k+ car... but it sold for $259,105.
While other markets have softened, top-of-the-food-chain models are still bringing top dollar. So why did this example fail to cross the $300,000 number? One could attribute it to the economic conditions in the EU as we've seen quite the difference in prices when looking at most cars, even for cars like the RS N/GT.
We still have two more days of auction action from Paris, but our Spotlight car has stolen the show by being stolen. With a much softer market overseas and an exchange rate in our favor, I wonder if we'll see a few of these coming stateside and being offered at sales later this year.
NOTEWORTHY SALES
- This 1964 356C is a stunning piece of automotive art produced by "Mirrorman" Gustav Troger. If you were looking for a disco ball for your garage, this was a pretty expensive one selling for $188,572 at Bonhams' Paris sale.
- Although a bit lighter than the past 3 sales of Singer 911s, this 1990 911 Carrera 2 Reimagined by Singer still managed to stay above the $1m hammering down for $1,075,000 on Bring a Trailer.
- No-sale Yellow strikes again. This 9,000-mile 2016 Porsche 911 R finished in Racing Yellow failed to sell at a high bid of $430,000. Even the seller's offer of financing the car for the buyer couldn't get a deal done.
NEW LISTINGS
- Not a car but a lot worth mentioning. This 60-piece collection of Porsche Posters includes quite a few factory-issued pieces and is already bid to $5,000.
- One of ten 1989 Porsche 911 Turbo S' is most likely the only one also modified by famed Porsche tuner Ruf. The S was an Exclusive Powerkit added after the sale and includes a special sport suspension, LSD, and unique front spoiler.
- Oddly enough we don't see many SC Cabriolets like this 1983 911 Carrera Cabriolet cross the block. They weren't notably rare, maybe owners just enjoy them so much they rarely part with them.
