GT3 Deals To Be Had... Overseas

It's Thanksgiving Eve but there are plenty of auctions closing today and tomorrow!

Good Morning! It was nice to see a number of cars close through auction sites other than the big three today. Bring a Trailer is still the volume king but the fight for second place still rages on. And don't forget about the new sleeper site backed with Hagerty money. It will be interesting to see how they grow next year.

As you sit back and read our 40th market report I'm sure that the astute among you have noticed the lack of prices reported for modern Porsche sales in the UK and abroad. Occasionally we will assess a sale from a legacy auction house but our assessments are of cars 25 years or older and eligible for import into the US. Basically, market agnostic classics and modern classics.

Modern Porsche's however, are not market agnostic. In fact, the markets couldn't be more different. Let's take for example this 2022 sub-1,000 mile 911 GT3 Touring sold on Collecting Cars in the UK. Well-optioned with full buckets, PCCBs, front-axel lift system, and 6-speed manual transmission, this car would have sold here in the US for north of $280,000 and possibly closer to $300,000.

But in the UK? $204,992. Almost $100,000 less than what a similar car would sell for here. Wrap your head around that. Blame Brexit, Liz, inflation, or that lettuce, the market couldn't be more different.
