SYAO Creativity, the week of January 29, 2024
Jan 29, 2024 2:50 pm
Hello, everyone!
Happy Monday! Here's the latest edition of SYAO Creativity. Let's see what's going on in our creative world this week!
STITCH (What I've been working on)
When I made Josue's Hat, I asked my other nephew, Tobey, if he wanted a hat, too. He said yes immediately. I asked him what he'd like, and he said the same as Josue's, but in pastel colors. So I put together this combo, got his stamp of approval, and finally started working on it this past week. I'm getting worried about how cold it is! Tobey needs a hat.
I should be able to mail it out this week, if all goes well!
I usually work in bright colors, but I'm very much enjoying this soft palette. I can testify that it's good for restaurant knitting (while you're waiting for your food) and football knitting.
YOUR (What you've been working on)
I bumped Julie a bit in the queue of showing off projects. She made this wonderful temperature blanket last year, and I wanted you to see it while you still have time to start one, if that's interesting to you.
If you've never heard of them, the idea is that you knit a row or make a quilt block, with the colors you choose representing different temperature ranges. As you can see from Julie's blanket, the middle of the year is warmer than the beginning and end of the year! Her blanket was made from the always-glorious Rios. I love her color choices! Thanks for sharing, Julie! So much fun!
ART (Inspired by art or nature)
We were out and about yesterday. Rainy days have a beauty of their own.
OUT (What's out on the shelves in the shop)
A new color of Noro Ito arrived this week! No one does color like Noro.
As always, make an appointment to shop or browse, or just to show off your stuff! I can't wait to see you!
