Hello, everyone!
Happy Monday! Here's the latest edition of SYAO Creativity. Let's see what's going on in our creative world this week! It's apparently a busy time of year. I have a lot going on! I love it when that happens!
STITCH (What I've been working on)
I'm in the middle of a shawl design for New Year's! Hoping to get it finished before then, so people can see what it looks like. If not, I'm forging ahead anyway. It's a fun concept, and I'll release the pattern in December sometime. Stay tuned!
YOUR (What you've been working on)
Each year, Jean's husband buys her a kit that I put together for making a Christmas quilt. She's made a queen-sized quilt for all her children and grandchildren (and probably cousins and nieces and nephews!). If you made this block of the month, you'll recognize the pattern. I pulled together the same quilt but in Christmas colors. Jean worked on it (including hand quilting) for a year--and then it got best of show in her county fair! Well done, Jean.
What can I pull together with you? That's my favorite thing to do!
ART (Inspired by art or nature)
The other evening I was driving home on Nixon Road. It's always one of my favorite views, and I feel lucky to see it almost every day. With the days darkening as I leave the shop now, I'll have to wait a while to see this sort of thing.
OUT (What's out on the shelves in the shop)
Do you know that I carry a full rainbow of Lizbeth crochet thread? I have it in mostly size 20, which is the most popular. It's also great for tatting, or for doing old-timey tied quilts.
One more thing: Our Snowflakes in the Air class starts on Tuesday! Sign up now! We can get you fixed up with yarn, pattern, and beads when you arrive for class. Marianne is a calming teacher, and you're going to love taking a class from her at this time of year!
And one more more thing: We have a new class scheduled called Knitting Inspiration. Go check it out! This class will be session by session, once a month. Sign up for one or for all three.
