Let's be creative together!

Google “What's creativity?”, and you’ll see lots of perspectives:

  • Maybe it’s being good at brainstorming? (I’m terrible at that, and maybe you are, too.)
  • Maybe it’s drawing? (Can you draw? Me neither.)
  • Maybe it’s transcending traditional ways of thinking? (I have to transcend? That sounds pretty hard for a mere mortal.)

Okay, let’s stop this. Let’s say that it doesn’t matter what creativity is. Let’s just assume that as a human and stitcher, you’re creative in some way or another.

But maybe you don’t have creative confidence.

If that’s the case, there’s only one way to get it: Go to Carnegie Hall!

Oh wait. It might be to practice, practice, practice.

Let’s do just that. I have a creativity class coming up starting on November 16. We’ll meet once a month for four months. I’ll give you an assignment, and you go figure it out. (I'll do the assignment, too.)

Need my help getting the ideas executed? I’m always here for you between classes.

You and your classmates will also give each other ideas and support. I’ve found that being in a group of people interested in creativity sparks inspiration and happiness and yes, even success!

The first assignment is your answer to the prompt, “Have a heart.” Think of a million uses for hearts! Or think of just one use! Use yarn, use fabric, or use bricks and paperclips! Draw hearts! Cross stitch them! And show whatever object you made at the first class.

Let’s just see your heart.
