SYAO Creativity, the week of July 22, 2024
Jul 22, 2024 3:33 pm
Hello, everyone!
Happy Monday! Here's the latest edition of SYAO Creativity. Let's see what's going on in our creative world this week!
STITCH (What I've been working on)
The new block for the Tula Pink block of the month features an elephant!
YOUR (What you've been working on)
Cathy's quilt reminds us all that autumn is on the way, with these lovely, warm colors.
Let me make an added note from last time, that Christy's tulip quilt was from a photo she took of the Parc de Bagetelle in Paris. And that local quilt artist Chris Staver taught the appliqué technique in a class, plus assisted Christy to the finish line!
ART (Inspired by art or nature)
Continuing with our bug theme from last week (although probably nothing could be as magnificent as that grasshopper!), I saw a cicada the other day! It was hiding in plain sight, and this photograph is in color.
Want your own hat that has cicadas on it? Click here. It's so far my least popular pattern--but you know what? I love it, and sometimes you have to make things that amuse you, no matter what everyone else thinks. I made that hat in bright, cool colors that are stunning, but don't look great on me--so I'm probably going to make another one in the fall colors that do look good on me.
Have you ever made something that only you liked?
OUT (What's out on the shelves in the shop)
New striped sock yarn! Much of it is in Christmas colors.
Let's get going, people! LOL
As always, make an appointment to shop or browse, or just to show off your stuff! I can't wait to see you!
