Here's the latest edition of SYAO Creativity. Let's see what's going on in our colorful, creative world!

STITCH (What I've been working on)

I have another pattern out--kind of! It's an Advent mystery shawl and so won't be actually starting until December 1. It's called Radiant. You can get the pattern on Ravelry here. You'll need to do that to get the clues, which will come out each morning in December. (We'll end a bit before Christmas, so you have time to block and wear the shawl.) If you don't celebrate Christmas, you'll still have fun making this shawl. There are no Christmas themes in it--just pretty knitting patterns that are fairly quick to do.

You can also preorder a kit that I've specially dyed for it! Delivery will be in November at the latest, depending on when you order and how many orders I get. (I'm hoping you'll order it this month so I'm sure to have time to get your kit made up.) The kits have 12 mini-skeins of worsted-weight yarn in either cool or warm colors (shown below). Beads as needed come with the kit! Click here to order your kit! (You can see when you go there that I'm again doing knitters' and quilters' presents! I had so much fun last year, choosing the perfect colors and wrapping the gifts!) I'll email or call you when your kit is ready.

YOUR (What you've been working on)

Patty's landscape is beautiful!! See how colors don't have to be literal? It's more about the values (light and dark). I love these royal blues!

ART (Inspired by art or nature)

I happened across this painting in a photos website, where I've purchased a certain number of downloads. (In other words, I'm allowed to use it!) I love the twist on autumn colors. That blue! It reminds me of the colors Patty chose above!

OUT (What's out on the shelves in the shop)

This butterfly fabric from Snow Leopard Designs (the genius Philip Jacobs) also echos the colors of that painting.
