Hello, everyone!
Happy Monday! Here's the latest edition of SYAO Creativity. Let's see what's going on in our creative world this week! I'm running later today than normal because I have so much going on here. Keep reading!
STITCH (What I've been working on)
I'm so excited! I finished the Tula Pink block of the month!! It's so much fun, and I'm looking forward to taking it home. I have 2 (make that 1) more kits, if you get inspired here.) If you were in the block of the month and want the finishing kit, please let me know soon so I can get the border fabric ordered!
YOUR (What you've been working on)
Anne's Welted Poncho looks great! It's hard to see here, but she made the welts in two different colors. So fun!!
ART (Inspired by art or nature)
Last gasp of autumn in back of the store. Noooooooo! I'll miss these leaves!!!
OUT (What's out on the shelves in the shop)
We have three mysteries coming up, one quilting, two knitting!
The quilted one is for a mystery Christmas runner.
The clues will be sent by email, but for ease of signup, I've created it as a class that includes the cost of the fabric (the top plus the binding). Sign up, and then set up a time to come in and choose your fabrics. If you want me to choose them and mail them, let me know, and I'll add in postage costs. I have an idea shown here, but we can work back and forth with color choices. (You're also welcome to use any colors, not just Christmas. It won't matter for the design.)
The knitted one is for a mystery hat that will start in December.
For that, either choose a kit here (I can mail or you can pick up), or wait to buy the pattern when it comes out, and use your own supplies of worsted-weight yarn and beads. Whatever works for you! I'll be dyeing these to order, and they'll be ready before December 1. Please order them by about November 20! I need time to prep. Thank you! When you buy the kit, I'll send you the pattern on December 1. Clues will begin a week after that.
In addition, Sara Schira is doing another gnome Christmas mystery!
It's called Gnana, and should be super cute! I'll have kits ready starting next week. Please preorder your kit so that I'm sure to have it ready for you!!
As with the other mysteries, I'm putting the kits under classes, so that I can send out a notice to everyone at once that the kits are ready (which should be by Thanksgiving). The kit includes everything: Mini skeins in cream, light gray, dark gray, and red; a pair of miniature glasses, and the cost of the pattern. If you'd like only the pattern, let me know, and I'll get it for you (each sale helps the shop). The pattern will go into your Ravelry library.
