Happy Monday! Here's the latest edition of SYAO Creativity. Let's see what's going on in our creative world this week!

STITCH (What I've been working on)

I've been playing with a ruler for next April's Raystown retreat. I chose colors specifically to show the color wheel for this one. I was going to place them all in the same orientation, but "Things Happened" with the cutting, and I decided that my original plan would not only have entailed re-cutting and re-sewing, but wouldn't have looked as good anyway. So now they face in all the directions. I love this little quilt!

YOUR (What you've been working on)

Alice went a little crazy with the flying geese--to excellent effect! This sort of thing is why I always have a Flying Geese ruler handy and in stock!

ART (Inspired by art or nature)

I was at the beach over the last two weeks. (Did you miss me? I missed being in the store, but I got a lot of pattern-writing done, so good things are coming!) While there, I bought a kite because I started getting jealous of the people flying kites.

I'm thinking that for next year, I need to make a beautiful fabric kite. (I started coloring the edge of this one, which you can see if you look carefully, but got impatient.)

I'm thinking that some kind of big flowers from Philip Jacobs of the Kaffe Fassett Collective, or maybe a fantastic Australian print! The white kite matches the clouds and looks good, but what about a split-complementary combo, like the one below this photo? The yellow and orange would pop against the sky! I think we can find these in the shop somewhere.
