SYAO Creativity, the week of March 24, 2025
Mar 24, 2025 2:16 pm
Hello, everyone!
Happy Monday! Here's the latest edition of SYAO Creativity. Let's see what's going on in our creative world this week!
STITCH (What I've been working on)
This always happens at this time of year. I close in on finishing a sweater. I finish it so that I have about one day in April to wear it, before the weather turns too warm. I'm getting there on this sweater.
The pattern is kind of a winging-it thing. I started it by making it a raglan, but I decided against that because my body shape doesn't look good in raglans. So I decided to rip it back. Instead, I'm using the measurements from my set-in sleeve measurements from my e-book, the Sweater with the Best Fit Ever! I'm using the cable from my College Avenue Sweater. And the v-neck is a crap shoot. I'll take it out and redo it if needed. We'll see. It's not much to take out if I have to, so the drama is low.
The yarn is Rios in Teal Feather, but looks greener in the photo. If you like the color as shown in the photo, choose Solis instead!
YOUR (What you've been working on)
Anne made a stunning wedding shawl for her daughter. I can't stop looking at it. (And Anne, your daughter is also looking beautiful!)
ART (Inspired by art or nature)
Here's another thing from the Gaylord Hotel in Nashville, from when I was at cross-stitch market: A water-spitting lion! Classic.
OUT (What's out on the shelves in the shop)
This is such a pretty combination for spring. Gotta love a batik!
As always, make an appointment to shop or browse, or just to show off your stuff! I can't wait to see you!
