Hello, everyone!

Happy Monday! Here's the latest edition of SYAO Creativity. Let's see what's going on in our creative world this week! The colors this week scream autumn. And the students are back! And classes start at Penn State! What happened to summer????

STITCH (What I've been working on)

I'm busy making a mystery hat. I've already made one, but I have a few small changes I want to make to it, so I'm now making a second one to double-check the instructions. (They have to be really clear!) The pattern will be released on September 1, and all the clues will happen on September 15, which is Make a Hat Day.

I'll have kits for the hats available on the Stitch Your Art Out website starting September 1. You can buy them online, then pick them up. But WHY WAIT? You can set up a time starting now to come in and choose your colors in person right now, before the kits are listed! If you buy the yarn before Sept. 15, I'll gift you the pattern.

I'm using green for this one, because that color received the most votes when I did the online poll! The pattern requires one dark and one light yarn. Solids or tonals are best; a variegated won't show the patterning well enough. The kits will be from various colors of Rios. Strangely, there will be no beads for this project!

Also, this is the block for this month's Tula quilt. Meow!!

YOUR (What you've been working on)

Kristen took my beginning sock class, and after making a plain pair, sent me a photo of her second sock project! So pretty!! These are the Lush Lemonade Socks. I can get the pattern for you, and of course, we can fix you up with yarn!

ART (Inspired by art or nature)

Sunflowers at the Arboretum at Penn State. One of my favorite flowers! The bees are enjoying it, too.

OUT (What's out on the shelves in the shop)

Just in! New sock yarn from Urth Yarns that's very close to solid! Here are the fall colors (because that's where things are going at the moment), but I also have it in purple, pink, and black. It's gorgeous. Come see it in person!
