Hello, everyone!

Happy Monday! Here's the latest edition of SYAO Creativity. Let's see what's going on in our creative world this week, as we head into August!

STITCH (What I've been working on)

The baby sweater I'm designing is continuing along, bit by bit. I'm a little worried that it's too long, but we'll see how it looks in proportion once the rest of it is finished. It's a good project for short wait times, because it's so easy. The Cumulus yarn has such long stripes that so far, all the pieces look alike. I think that's going to change soon--maybe! I'm loving this yarn. No wonder so many people have been buying it for baby items! Come in and see the shawl made from it that I machine washed and dried four times.

YOUR (What you've been working on)

Annie has returned to quilting after over 10 years! This is the Quilting 101 table runner she's finishing up. I love it when people return to a long-lost project! She learned how to quilt from a "graduate student in Spanish." That student is now a professor in the Spanish department, and a famous cross-stitch designer!

ART (Inspired by art or nature)

My neighbor always has the most beautiful flowers. I love photographing them on walks around the block.

OUT (What's out on the shelves in the shop)

Fabric from the Kaffe Fassett Collective is always wonderful! I was inspired to show you a piece because of Annie's table runner. This is one of my favorites in the shop, but I have lots more. When Philip Jacobs creates the patterning and Kaffe Fassett colors it, the result is pure magic.
