CLASS!

STITCH (What I've been working on)

I just released the sixth block of the block of the month. People working on the smaller quilt have all their blocks now. Those working on the larger quilt are halfway there! I'm loving this quilt. Australian fabrics play well with batiks.

YOUR (What you've been working on)

I'm in love with Nancy's Baby Surprise Jacket. Her colors are soft and beautiful, and the buttons are charming! She used Simplicity for this one, a DK-weight yarn that's machine wash and lay flat to dry. It's soft and lovely.

ART (Inspired by art or nature)

Nancy's Baby Surprise has the same color-feel as this Vincent Van Gogh painting, "Terrace and Observation Deck at the Moulin de Blue-Fin, Montmartre," from early 1887. (Picture courtesy of the Art Institute of Chicago.) Nancy and Vincent both have very good color sense! That little bit of yellow-lime makes the gray actually come alive.

OUT (What's out on the shelves in the shop)

New from Moda. These are terrific--solid, but with interest.
