Hello, everyone!

Here's the latest edition of SYAO Creativity. Let's see what's going on in our creative world!

STITCH (What I've been working on)

Yesterday morning was almost chilly. I'm seeing sunflowers in the grocery stores. My UPS driver is worrying about the students returning.

Fall is coming.

So let's knit, shall we?

I just finished up an easy little hat pattern. I was trying to figure out a name for it, and asked Kevin what he saw when he looked at it. I was expecting an answer something like, "a circuit board." But no. He saw Bunnies in the Cabbage Patch.

Here's my buddy Misty modeling the teal one.

And the brown one--because POM POM! (I have a good selection of them. They snap on and off, which is great for washing the hat.)

You can get the pattern on Ravelry, here. (If you're a knitter, you may want to join my Really Clear mailing list here. You'll get notice of my patterns, and subscriber discounts on most new patterns.)

I used three colors of Rios, to make a wonderfully soft, squishy hat. Set up a time, and I'll give you some good color advice!

YOUR (What you've been working on)

Cindy made a super-cute felted sheep. I love those needlefelted eyes. I'm not sure what it's looking at, but Cindy, you'd better step carefully in that area of the house!

ART (Inspired by art or nature)

I was in a local Japanese restaurant called Sakura almost 10 years ago, and this was the dessert plate. I saved the photo, and I've never forgotten this gorgeous display. (Wouldn't it make an amazing design for a piece of fabric?) I love when people care about their jobs. I'm not seeing that they have this dessert plate anymore, but we should ask!

OUT (What's out on the shelves in the shop)

Are you thinking about Christmas in this 85-degree weather? Well, I certainly hope so, because those fabrics have just arrived! I have a large shipment from both Hoffman and Stof, and they play well together. You have 4 months to prepare. They're stunning!

As always, make an appointment to shop or browse, or just to show off your stuff! I can't wait to see you!

P. S. The New York Beauty class starts this week! It'll be done on Zoom, so you can stay comfy in your home. Sign up here. (And then set up a time to pick up the pattern, and to choose just the right fabrics.) This is a great class if you have made a few quilts but have never done paper piecing. It looks perfect in so many types of fabrics!
