SYAO Creativity, the week of February 26, 2024
Feb 26, 2024 3:00 pm
Hello, everyone!
Happy Monday! Here's the latest edition of SYAO Creativity. Let's see what's going on in our creative world this week! It's a LOT, so pay attention!
STITCH (What I've been working on)
I finished up all three projects for the Jane Austen Brunch that's coming up on March 17. I believe we're full, but you can put your name on the waiting list at Pine Grove Hall. I'm so excited about this event! My thanks to my wonderful knitting teacher Cynthia Mazzant, owner of Tempest Studios, who gathered the actors for this show. She's doing the hard part. If you attended the Edgar Allan Poe event last October, you know you're in for a treat.
I can hardly believe that I've finished three projects! The cross stitch one is a cute little thing to hang, the black one is a pincushion (thanks for that idea, Patricia!), and the mitts are ... mitts.
If you like the projects, you're welcome to buy a kit, which I have on the website. You don't need to attend to buy a kit. (I'll have the patterns ready just before the event, if you're looking just to buy the pattern.) If you want a different color for your kit, zip me an email!
Oh--noticing my cross-stitch piece--I'll be at cross-stitch market in Nashville for about a week. If you want any of the designs from there, let me know today or tomorrow, and I'll pick them up for you while I'm there! My helpers will be leaving at 3:00 when I'm gone, as always.
YOUR (What you've been working on)
I love Candy's quilt!
ART (Inspired by art or nature)
My friend Lisa lives in Greenland and gave me permission to show you this photo she took last week. (It looks a lot like Candy's quilt!)
OUT (What's out on the shelves in the shop)
How about some more soft blues? Yes, please!
And on another topic: I should note that the yarns for our Pacific Coast Tour mystery shawl are ready for preorder! You need to order your kit by March 27 to guarantee that they'll be here for Local Yarn Store Day on April 27. Come in and see them! This year's rectangular shawl is meant for newer knitters, and it's in worsted-weight yarn. I think you'll love it.
Order a kit (look--soft blues are available!):
See more information about the mystery shawl:
As always, make an appointment to shop or browse, or just to show off your stuff! I can't wait to see you!
