Happy Sunday!

And Happy National Plant a Flower Day.

Did you know there are over 400,000 varieties of flowers?

The act of nurturing and caring for flower plants can be a satisfying and rewarding experience. Some studies even suggest that getting your hands dirty and being exposed to soil microbes may have an antidepressant effect.

If you feel like getting your hands dirty, National Plant a Flower Day is the perfect excuse to plant a flower garden.

Whether your hands are dirty or clean, be sure to enjoy today's Sunday 7!

Blessings!

2 ) đź“ś Quote to Ponder

"Jesus loves hidden souls. A hidden flower is the most fragrant. I must strive to make the interior of my soul a resting place for the Heart of Jesus." ~ Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska

3 ) 🥾 This Week Outside

Last weekend Chrissy and I took a ride up interstate 10 from Tucson to Picacho Peak State Park. The park's prominent 1,500-foot peak rises majestically above the desert and is surrounded by an array of cacti and desert wildflowers. Our hike was a short one but still offered a breathtaking panoramic view of the wildflowers blooming and the surrounding desert landscape.

What about you? Get outside and explore a new trail, beach, or park that you've never been to before!

Marriage Pearl # 7: Spiritual Compatibility

Finding a spouse goes beyond physical attraction and involves finding a spiritual partner.

To ensure spiritual compatibility, it’s crucial to be proactive in your spiritual growth together. This is important regardless of the customs and traditions of your faith, whether you’re Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Hindu, or from any other religion.

In marriages where partners come from different faiths, it’s essential to respect and honor each other’s traditions, without letting go of your own. This can lead to a more enriching experience as both partners learn from each other’s cultures and upbringings.

For example, my husband Steve was raised Catholic, and I grew up in a non-Catholic household. Despite our different backgrounds, we have the same ultimate goals. We certainly have enriched each other’s spirituality with the different traditions and cultures of our upbringings.

I visualize marriage as a triangle, where the spouses are on opposite points and the Higher Power in the middle. As couples draw closer to God, they are also drawn closer to each other.

Similarly, when couples strengthen their bond, they both move closer to God.

This is the essence of spiritual compatibility in marriage.

Spiritual & Exercise.

Those two words usually either intrigue people or put people off.

I am going to share with you a practice that puts both of them together, a “spiritual exercise” that I learned years ago and still regularly use in my life. It takes focus and it can be work. It also taps into the creative space that is God.

If you know me, you know that I don’t like “hokey” things. The first time I learned of this practice I was very resistant and really thought it was not for me. Over time though I have become more open to letting God fill my imagination.

Here is the practice...

When I get into bed at the end of the day with a feeling of satisfaction and pride, what happened during the day that created that feeling?
