Let's Talk Like Shakespeare - The Sunday 7 - Issue #69

Apr 23, 2023 1:14 pm

Happy Sunday!

Today is National Talk Like Shakespeare Day.

Born on April 23, 1564, Shakespeare's impact on the English language cannot be overstated.

He introduced countless new words, phrases, and expressions. For example, "Break the ice," "Wild-goose chase," "In a pickle," "All that glitters is not gold," and "Love is blind" are all phrases that he popularized and helped bring into common English usage.

So, in keeping with the spirit of the day, mayhap thou wilt find great joy and delight in the Sunday 7 that doth present itself before thee.

Heaven bless thee!

3 ) 🥾 This Week Outside

It is a big adjustment going from Tucson where the high was 98 degrees to Idaho Springs where it is getting down below 17 degrees at night. We seem to have taken some big steps backward as far as seasons go.

One of those adjustments is that the outdoors seems much less hospitable as we have grown used to the warmth. But we went ahead for a walk along Clear Creek despite parts of our bodies going numb!

4 ) đź¤Ł Dad Joke

I saw a man going up a hill with a wheelbarrow full of horseshoes, four-leaf clovers and rabbits feet.

I thought: "Wow, he's pushing his luck!

Marriage Pearl # 12: Be Your Spouse's Biggest Cheerleader

Be your spouse’s biggest and loudest cheerleader. Don’t let anyone else take that spot.

Life will give you plenty of opportunities to cheer your spouse on.

When Steve went to school for his RN, MBA, Spiritual Direction, and most recently his ACE credentials I had the opportunity to support and encourage him.

This looked different in each season of life, but I am a fan of Steve and made that loud and clear.

He also cheered me on through my MED and various jobs that I have worked in, career changes, and most recently trying my hand at being an author.

He cheers for me and I cheer for him and we are the loudest ones in each other’s lives.

Does that mean we were always successful…no!

But we were together when the chips fell and we were together when the house was built.

I wasn’t about to let anyone else become a tower of strength and encouragement for my husband.

A New Season in A New Place

Hey friends!

It seems like a lifetime since I last blogged about life. We have had so much happen in our lives.

We closed on a house in Tucson just a month ago. The house needed a good cleaning and then we went to work on furnishing it. We have it listed for ...

7 )  đź¤” Question for Reflection

What are your highest expectations for the coming week?

P.S. Last weekend we arrived at our new location in idaho Springs, CO. To our dismay, we were without internet, smack in the middle of a Verizon dead spot.

So, for the first time in 68 weeks, we missed sending you a newsletter.

I am not sure you missed us, but know this, we missed you! We now have a T-Mobile hotspot and are back in business.
