Happy Sunday!
And Happy Namesake Day!
Have you ever stopped to think about where your name came from?
Maybe you were named after a parent, an aunt or an uncle, or a grandparent, or even a famous person your parents admired. Or, maybe your folks just thought your name sounded cool. In either case, your name has meaning and a history behind it.
Namesake Day is the perfect opportunity to learn about and ponder the history of your name and celebrate the heritage you carry in it.
Today, let’s celebrate our names and the people, places, and things they honor!
And while you do, be sure to enjoy today's Sunday 7!
Blessings!

Unusually snowy morning for Tucson...
2 ) Quote to Ponder
"There is nothing sweeter in this sad world than the sound of someone you love calling your name." ~ Kate DiCamillo
3 ) 🔭 This Week's History Nugget
Born in 1564 in Pisa, Italy, Galileo Galilei was an Italian astronomer, physicist, and mathematician who laid the foundation for the modern scientific method.
A leading figure in the scientific revolution of the 17th century, he exemplifies 3 qualities we need today:
One: He was committed to objective reality
Galileo valued observation and experimentation. He advocated the need for empirical evidence to support scientific theories.
He said, "The authority of thousands of opinions is not worth as much as one tiny spark of reason in an individual man."
Being committed to actual reality gives you sold footing to truly make progress toward a better future.
Two: He challenge the status quo
Galileo faced fierce opposition from Church and other authorities during his lifetime because he called the currently accepted belief systems into question.
He said, "All truths are easy to understand once they are discovered; the point is to discover them."
Just because everyone thinks a certain way, does not mean it is accurate.
Three: He was relentlessly curious
Galileo was driven by a deep curiosity about the natural world and a desire to understand its workings.
He said, "I have never met a man so ignorant that I couldn't learn something from him."
His willingness to explore new avenues of inquiry led to some of the most significant scientific discoveries of his time.
Galileo provides a strong example of the mindset required for scientific progress, whether in the 17th century or the 21st. His approach to science and innovation embodies key qualities that are still highly relevant today.
May Galileo's mindset and approach to scientific discovery inspire you too to:
→ Be relentlessly curious
→ Challenge the status quo
→ Be committed to objective reality
4 ) Dad Joke
My friend told me that his wife took off her shirt and bra during an argument that he was winning.
From that instant, it was game over for him.
The booby trap never fails.

Marriage Pearl # 6: Viva la Difference
Have you ever thought about how marriage can help us grow and become better people? When two people come together in marriage, they bring their own unique backgrounds and perspectives. It’s through navigating these differences that we have the chance to develop qualities like patience, empathy, and unconditional love.
But the growth doesn’t stop there. When you add children to the mix, you’re entering a whole new level of personal development. Parenting requires us to be selfless and to put the needs of our kids before our own. It’s not always easy, but it’s incredibly rewarding to see the impact we have on our children’s lives.
Through all the ups and downs of marriage and parenthood, we’re shaped in ways that we never could have predicted. It’s not always easy to become one with another person, but it’s worth it. We have to be willing to embrace the conflicts that arise and use them as opportunities to learn and grow. That’s how we refine ourselves and develop qualities that are essential to a happy and fulfilling life.
Remember, the goal of marriage isn’t to become identical to our partner. I would be incredibly dissatisfied if Steve was just like me, where would the excitement or unexpected come from? It’s about two unique individuals coming together and complementing each other’s strengths and weaknesses. We should celebrate our differences and use them as a way to grow and learn from each other.
To have a successful marriage, we need to approach it with a growth mindset. We don’t have to be perfect, but we should always be striving to become the best version of ourselves. By embracing our own imperfections and those of our partner, we can create a deep and meaningful relationship that stands the test of time.
6 ) Adventures of Steve and Chrissy Update
This was an all around exciting week in our lives.
We found out that we are going to be grandparents again! Leah and Hano are expecting. We can hardly wait to meet the new little one and see Mayla in her role as big sis! Leah and Hano are such amazing parents and we are so full of joy in seeing their family grow. Prayers are appreciated for a safe pregnancy.
Last Sunday Steve and I looked at a small house in central Tucson. We really liked the cute and cozy vibe it gave us. There are several medical centers in proximity to it as well as the main Tucson Hospital. So, we made an offer on it. The offer was accepted and we are in the process of mortgage approval, inspections, and such. We are thinking this will be a great mid-term rental property that we can list on apps like Furnished Finder (for travel nurses) or Airbnb. We will need to live in it 30 days out of the year for it to be considered our primary residence and “tax home.” We have a lot to learn, but are hoping to rent it out during the times that Steve is on contract and that it will help us pay the expenses some.
Tucson joined with the rest of Arizona in having two snow events this past week as well. We actually had some accumulation on one of the days. We really did not see that one coming. Lol.
Steve is working on getting his next contract and it looks like it might be in Colorado. Not a definite but certainly a possibility. We will keep you posted.
Blessings friends!
7 ) 🤔 Question for Reflection
Where am you spending time and energy trying to please someone who actually doesn't care?
