Why Your MMS Images May Look Blurry — and How to Fix It
Nov 05, 2025 4:09 pm
Hi ,
We’ve noticed that sometimes large, high-resolution images sent through Twilio can look blurry or pixelated once delivered. The reason isn’t the design — it’s carrier compression.
Most carriers automatically resize or compress images that are too large (usually anything above 500–600 KB), which can lower image quality and consistency across devices.
The solution:
To make sure your messages always look crisp and professional, use these simple settings:
- Size: 600×600 px to 800×800 px
- File size: under 600 KB
- Format: JPEG or PNG
Example: The TextMeChat graphic above was only 600×600 px and 96 KB — and it delivered perfectly clear through Twilio with no compression.
Keeping images lightweight ensures your MMS campaigns display sharply and deliver reliably, no matter the carrier or device.
Cheers,
The TextMeChat Team
