What would life be without colours? 

Here are the basic ones:

Negro - black .. 🖤

Blanco - white .. 🤍

Amarillo - yellow .. 💛

Anaranjado -orange .. 🧡

Rojo - red .. ❤️

Morado - purple .. 💜

Marrón - brown .. 🤎

Gris - grey .. 🩶

Azul - blue .. 💙

Verde - green .. 💚

Rosa - pink .. 🩷

Remember I said words referring to objects are masculine or feminine? Well, when you use colours to describe those objects you also have to make the colours match the masculine/feminine word and even make it singular or plural!

For example,

La taza es blanca. - The cup is white.

El libro es amarillo. - The book is yellow.

Las sillas son negras. - The chairs are black.

Los vasos son rojos. - The glasses are red.

1 up to here, they change to masculine (keeping the last -o) or feminine (changing the last -o to -a).

2 up to here, they need -es to make them plural but they don’t change to masculine or feminine.

3 up to here, you just need to add -s to make it plural but they don’t change to masculine or feminine.

Mini-challenge: Look at all the objects around you at the moment, what colour are they? Remember to match the colours to masculine or feminine. Use a dictionary if needed (my favourite online/app is wordreference.com).
