Day 12: La Familia - Family 👥

Jul 25, 2026 7:31 am

¡Hola, !

We all belong to a family and they are all different! In Spanish, we use TENER - TO HAVE to talk about our families.

For example,

Tengo una hermana. - I have a sister.

No tengo hermanos. - I don’t have any brothers/siblings.

Tengo dos sobrinas. - I have two nieces.

How about you? ¿Tienes hermanos o hermanas?

Remember, in Spanish we don't need to say 'yo' as the verb will be conjugated and it will look different to any other. Please see below how TENER changes:

yo tengo - I have

tú tienes - you have

él / ella tiene - he / she has

nosotros / nosotras tenemos - we have

vosotros / vosotras tenéis - you have (in plural, a group)

ellos / ellas tienen - they have

Muchos saludos
