Understanding The Concept of "MAN OF GOD"

I posted here yesterday that I am a man of God, and a lot of people met it with laughter. In their minds, I simply cannot be a man of God. Why did they assume that?

They probably felt that a man who does not own a church, was not anointed by another so-called man of God, not a pastor and who criticizes religion and sometimes religion leaders cannot be a man of God.

If you also believe this, then you need to pay more attention to this article. It is for you! A man of God is not necessarily a pastor or General overseer of a church, it does not really have to be one that is affiliated with any religion.

A man of God is the person who has reached an age of decision-making and decides to know and do the will of God, even when it is hard to do so.

If you think that people only become men of God because they are religion leaders or have churches, then it is time to perish that idea! It is not true! Becoming a man of God has little to do with religion. It is about a personal relationship with God and doing his will.

I became a man of God from the time I knew the will of God and for my life and decided to follow it through. My major test came when God told me to leave the University after having worked for admission for 5 years.

It was not what I wanted; it was not easy, but I had to do it because it was what God wanted. It was after doing it that I saw that truly I did not belong there. So, the major reason why I left the university was not that I was smart, it was because I was a man of God.

If you imagine that this is about me leading a church, perish the imagination! Being a man of God has a little, and in many instances, as we now experience them, nothing to do with starting a church or being ordained a pastor.

Becoming a man of God requires only one thing - submitting to the will of God in vogue and for your life. That was what I did when I left the university.

Before then, I have always wanted to be a professor of English, and after 5 years, I got an admission to study English at UNILAG. Do you think I would have abandoned that for anything and anyone less than God?

It was a decision that made my family question my sanity, and they still do. It was a decision that moved me from a golden kid to an idiot. It moved me from approval to disapproval.

I still suffer the consequences to date but it does not matter as long as I am sure that it is the will of God for me. Even if God fails me, I will not regret it.

A lot of people have seen my works and recognize them to be those of superior intelligence but they do not want to approve me because I do not have a university certificate.

If I decide to go back to school to get my certificates, then a lot of people will know the value of the man I am. I have superior intelligence and I know it but I still have to do the will of God.

I want people's approval, to be sincere - no one wants to be antagonized all the time, no one want to be overlooked for great recommendations despite having the capacity to perform but I will lose all of those things, regardless of how much I want them for the will of God. I have no regret and never will.

So, whenever you hear "MAN OF GOD" stop looking at it from the religious perspective. You can be religious, even own a church and not be a man of God. Those things do not make you a man of God, doing the will of God, however hard, does.

For you to have a relationship with God, you have to know God, and that I am glad I do. Your religion is a good way to start knowing God, but you should never be limited to it if you want to truly know God.
