Growing up, somehow we learned that having a romantic relationship while in a tertiary institution is a sign of indiscipline. If you still live with this mentality, you are digging the grave to bury your marital corpse, even before you approach it.
According to the books: SINGLE & SMART LADY, SINGLE & SMART MAN, for ladies and men respectively, if you cannot keep up with a relationship and academic activities while in school without one affecting the other, you are by so doing preparing yourself for a future where you will not be able to manage a successful career alongside successful marriage. You will always have to choose one and let the other fail.
The belief that love life, the vital part of which is intimate relationship is an afterthought, or should be for any great dreamer or disciplined person is as faulty as sex education in the realm of religion. The result has been successful careers at the detriment of successful marriages.
This somehow makes people believe that a successful career is an enemy of a successful marriage. IT IS NOT TRUE! Many people who failed in marriages while succeeding in their careers did so because they paid the price demanded career successes, and foolishly believing that it is an automatic ticket to marital bliss.
However, life does not ever deviate from its established laws; it will never give you anything for which you paid no full price.
Will you pay the price demanded a blissful marital life? Begin it now that you are single. No amount of marital counseling will save you from the consequences of not preparing for marriage while you are still single.
