Samson’s death did not result from lust for money or sex, in fact, Samson’s love for Delilah was pure – it was unique and sincere; the only problem was that he loved the wrong woman. The woman was used as a tool to kill him, but without Delilah, Samson may still have died the way he did.
The cause of Samson’s death has more to do with him than Delilah. It is a weakness that is common to the majority of men. The only reason women are not as susceptible to it as men, is that they often use it to weaken men for their own benefit, even if it will not take their lives.
Take for instance the DNA saga between Nedu Wazobia and his ex-Wife. After a DNA test conducted on the children confirmed that one of the children was not his, Nedu’s ex-wife blamed him for assuming their first son was his. Talking further about the DNA test, she claimed that he went so low to have demanded a DNA test.
The first statement suggested that he should have done whatever was needed to know instead of assuming that he was the father of the children they presumably had together as a married couple. The second statement showed that she felt betrayed that Nedu conducted a DNA test on the children.
She was definitely not happy with Nedu for conducting a DNA test on the children, and that probably ruined their relationship. If you ask her, she will tell you that love is trust and that if he loved her, he would believe her and not conduct a DNA test on the children. This was why she said he went so low.
A lot of men are currently raising bastards in their homes, but even though their intuition kept telling them about it, they could not conduct a DNA test on the children for fear of what their wives would say.
If a man conducts a DNA test on his presumed children, and it is confirmed that they are his, instead of the relationship to be stronger, it will be ruined because the wife believes that for the man to conduct the DNA test on the children, he does not love her.
Trust is love?
Whoever invented that statement must have a reason to do so, but trust is not love! Love can take place anyhow, anywhere, and with anyone, but trust requires knowledge to exist! Love needs trust to last long, and that is why one must make an effort to know everything about the person one loves before committing to marriage with them.
What led to the death of Samson was his desire to trust Delilah without making any effort to know her because he loved her. He probably believed that trust is love and trusted her with his life without knowing her. Even though he escaped death once by lying to her, his desire to make the woman happy by trusting her with the secret of his strength and life led to his death.
What led to Samson’s death was not Delilah; it was not lust either, and it had very little to do with money, as Delilah did not promise him any money to tell the secret of his strength. Samson died because he believed that TRUST IS LOVE.

I can love a thief, but I cannot trust her to not steal from me or other people. Distrusting her on the matter of stealing does not mean I do not love her. It means I know her. Trust is needed to make love strong, but for it to come, it must pass through different tests.
This may explain the popular parlance, TESTED AND TRUSTED. There is a reason TESTED came before TRUSTED; for something or someone to be trusted, they must be tested first. Love may not be earned, but trust is.
If you trust a person or thing without first putting it to the test, you may lose in the end. A word, they say, is enough for the wise. You are wise, and these are more than a word.
