Day 14: There Is No One-Size-Fits-All Treatment for Lupus
When people ask, "What do you take for lupus?"—there’s no simple answer.
That’s because lupus is unpredictable, multi-systemic, and deeply personal.
The treatment plan that works for one person may not work for another.
And even within the same person, the plan may need to shift over time.
Lupus treatment depends on things like:
🟣 The specific symptoms someone is experiencing
🟣 Which organs or systems are involved
🟣 Whether the disease is active or in remission
🟣 Other health conditions the person may have
🟣 How well their body tolerates certain medications
Some people are on anti-inflammatory medications and antimalarials like hydroxychloroquine. Others may need immunosuppressants, biologics, or steroids—all of which come with serious side effects.
You can read more about the realities of long-term steroid use, including emotional and physical effects, in this post I wrote:

Where We Are
We’ve raised $2,969.55 toward my $5,000 goal, and I’m so thankful for the way this community keeps showing up with care, shares, and compassion.
If today’s email helps you understand lupus a little better, please share it.

A Quick Note About This List
All awareness messages like this now come directly from my Social Butterflies system. Only donation-related emails—such as receipts or thank-you notes—will come from the Lupus Foundation’s platform.
To continue receiving updates, please open emails from Social Butterflies when they arrive. Some systems stop sending if there is no engagement.
