Be yourself. Love yourself. Take care of each other.
Hello, world! Shelly here!
I've got a lot going on at GOOW right now, and I couldn't pick just one thing to tell you about this week, so you're getting all of it. Consider this your big "things are happening" update!
In this week's news:
- The Creamy Cleanser got an upgrade (more product, same price - no shrink-flation here!)
- The Lip Sugar Scrub has 4 brand new flavors
- The Bakuchiol Face Cream is now on Amazon Prime
- My review of the new Jones Road Your Skin Foundation Stick is up on YouTube
- The Ingredient Literacy Guide is ready for you to download, free
- Summer hours at the Elkton, VA shop location
Creamy Cleanser: Now With More Product
The Creamy Cleanser just got a quiet upgrade that I'm proud of: you're getting 1 full ounce more product per bottle, now in a soft squeeze tube that's way easier to work with, and the price is staying exactly the same.
There's some formulation backstory to the change: I'm constantly evaluating formulation trends and techniques and ingredients. One of the more expensive ingredients in this cleanser, rosehip oil, is really better suited for leave-on products. Some skin care actives can have benefits with very short skin-contact times, but rosehip oil isn't one of them. So it was an expensive ingredient essentially washing down the drain before it could really help your skin. So I removed it and upgraded the size and quality of the bottle instead.
I know shrinkflation is everywhere right now (don't get me started), so going the other direction felt like the right call.
Lip Sugar Scrub: Four New Flavors
The Lip Sugar Scrub family just got a lot more interesting with some lip-smacking new flavors (thanks to Laura for the Strawberry Matcha recommendation!)
- Strawberry Matcha — yes, the flavor trend made it to lip care and I'm not sorry
- Birthday Cake — exactly what it sounds like
- Root Beer — this one is for the nostalgia crowd
- Amaretto — (does not contain liquor, for the record — just the flavor)
And four of the originals are still here: Peppermint, Hazelnut Latte, Lemon, and Grape. If you've been meaning to try the scrub, this is a fun time to do it. Grape is almost sold out, so grab it if Grape Crush makes you feel the feels! I'll be replacing it with another fruity option once it's gone.

Bakuchiol Face Cream Is Now on Amazon Prime
For those of you who prefer shopping on Amazon (let's not talk about my massive subscribe-and-save list), the Bakuchiol Face Cream is now available with Prime shipping!
This is the first GOOW product on Amazon, and more are coming. Which ones do you want to see there next? Reply and tell me — I read every response and it genuinely influences what I do next.

Jones Road Your Skin Foundation Stick Review
My review of the new Jones Road foundation stick is up on YouTube! Spoiler alert: I love it. I do wish they carried the cool undertone farther into the shade range; it's only available in the fair shades. But I will say, the neutrals do seem to be a true neutral (at least for the one I have, Sand, which is a light neutral) so at least there's that. Neutrals often pull warm/yellow to me.
Download: The Ingredient Literacy Guide
This one's been in the works for a while. The Ingredient Literacy Guide is a free resource designed to help you actually understand what's in your skin care products — not just whether something is "clean" or not, but what ingredients do, why they're there, and how to read a label without needing a chemistry degree.
It's free. No strings, no affiliate links. I just think you should have it.

Elkton, Virginia Location - Summer Hours
Lastly - if you're local to me in and around the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia, I just started my summer hours at the GOOW retail shop:
Wed/Thurs 12-5p, Fri 3-7p, and Sat 10a-2p
Come by and see me! 115 E Rockingham St, Elkton VA 22827 around the back corner of the Elkton Family Pharmacy building, next to their curbside pickup.
That's it for this week. A lot of good stuff happening, and more on the way.
As always: be yourself. Love yourself. Take care of each other.
