Hello Darlings!
This week, I'm hard at work doing two things:
1) Working on Dragon's Dream - the extra story I'm writing for my Fablestone Clan Kickstarter! This story, plus the hardcover editions and swag, will be ready for shipment in December! Thank you again to everyone who backed, shared, supported, and send good vibes during this process!
2) Working on my next Kickstarters. I loved the chance to create special edition hardcovers, and I've decided to bring more. If you've already read my work and you'd like some pretty trophies for your reading shelves, scroll down to see what's on the horizon later this year + early 2025.
In addition to working on writerly things, I've also been hitting the gym. Specifically, I'm working on increasing my upper body strength so I can start pole dancing again. I spent seven years doing pole dancing and then took a long hiatus, but I'm ready to start back at it again! Unfortunately for me, finding time to balance writing with reading with grad school with exercising can be tricky, but I think I can figure it out. :) [Side note - if you like taking exercise classes, which ones are you enjoying these days? Pole? Yoga? Tell me!]
One of the things I've been thinking about a lot lately is the idea of being able to do it all, and balancing that with letting go at appropriate times.
For example, I know I can't do every single thing that I want to each day. For me, this means prioritizing certain things.
Every single day, I want to:
-Write
-Exercise
-Drink water
-Read something
-Study Chinese and Japanese
Some days, I want to:
-Do chores (bleh)
-Run errands
-Go to appointments
-Swim like a frog on a lilypad
-Watch shows
-Binge read my favorite books
-Hang with friends
My routine looks different each day, and the number of things I'm able to accomplish each day varies on my other responsibilities, but it's important for me to keep in mind that my world doesn't have to be perfect, and it's okay for things to get a little messy sometimes.
What are your big priorities? What are your "every single day" items?
Send me a message and let me know!
Love,
Sophie
