This week I spent a couple days packing up Patreon rewards, and the whole time I was thinking about how grateful I am for readers. The ones who review my new books, the ones who put up with my Patreon shenanigans, the ones who read everything I put out even if it isn’t their fave trope or whatever. The ones who take a chance on a free book and spend a few precious hours in my story. The ones who send cute DMs when a scene makes them happy, or even just comment on my social media posts. The ones subscribed to my newsletter (hi!).

It all sounds like little stuff, but I am so, so thankful for every single thing. Not only because writing stories pays my bills (and I am very grateful that is the case), but because I get to bring someone joy, escape, or a little spark of feeling. That’s the most fulfilling part of writing, knowing the worlds and characters I create belong to you, too. That they live outside my head, inside your head, if that makes sense.

The cherry on top is working with artists all over the world, so they get to make a living doing their creative work, too. Readers make that possible. You make that possible.

That is pretty damn cool. It feels like magic.
