Salt Planet Giants is OUT NOW & I'm giving away a book box to celebrate! đź–¤

Hi ,
Let me tell you, being an author is humbling sometimes.
Last week, I was getting items ready for the Salt Planet Giants collection book boxes. Sitting at my dining table signing a million things—the special editions, the novellas, the prints, the little notes—I started to get really self-conscious about how many times my name was going into each box.
[I don’t usually get too personal in these emails, but a little backstory is necessary to explain. If you want, you can skip to the end for the link to enter the giveaway.]
You see, while I was writing my first novel, my grandmother was losing her ability to read. This woman devoured words. Reading, writing, all of it. Words were what she loved. They're what she was. We were very close, so I had a front row seat as the love of her life started slipping away.
I hurried to finish.
I put aside my fears and self-doubt and just did it so I could hand her a book with my name on the cover. It was so gratifying to watch her open it and flip through the pages.
To be honest, I’m not sure she could read it. But she could definitely read one thing. She stopped in the middle of the book and pointed to the top of the left-hand page.
“You sure like the look of your own name,” she said, winking at me.
The funniest thing about her little joke is that I don’t. I like to let my stories talk for me. Who cares about the author when there are interesting characters and whole worlds on those pages? That’s how I feel about it.
So here I was this past week, writing my name on everything in the book box, hating the look of it. Who cares, who cares, right?
And then y’all bought out those boxes in twenty minutes.
You care.
Humbling.
Thank you.
The book is out in the world now. It has all three Salt Planet novels. It has a bunch of my drawings of the characters and places that inhabit my dreams. It even has a map. You can get it here in a glorious illustrated paperback (and it’s in Kindle Unlimited, too, if you don’t have the shelf space).
Please ignore my name on every left-hand page. I think you’ll know me better if you remember the stories instead.
GIVEAWAY TIME
To celebrate the launch, I’m giving away one of the Salt Planet Giants book boxes! There are lots of easy ways to enter, including an extra entry daily.
Good luck.
Love you.
XO,
Sara
