My favorite scene in the book is the one where Maggie uses her oyster-shucking knife to help Evrard look his best. I don’t know why, but grooming scenes always do it for me. I’ve realized I write them in almost every book, all the way back to the hair-combing scene in Stolen by Starlight. There’s something so intimate and caring about it…and maybe a little kinky when there are sharp knives or claws involved. (And there usually are.) I will never get tired of it.

WRITING NEWS

What am I writing now? If you guessed more Nightfall Guardians books, you’re right! Book One, The Gargoyle & the Maiden is underway.

This is a plot I’ve had churning in the back of my mind for literal years, and yet it is already surprising me, which is one of the delightful parts of writing. You think you know your own story, but invariably it turns out differently on the page.

Next week, I will have a major Etsy shop restock! 🛍️ There will be fresh copies of all my paperbacks, including omnibus editions. Most signed paperbacks will come with prints, stickers or both. There will be a couple new products, and most exciting, there will be a book box for The Gargoyle & the Spinster!

I got some special copies printed that have Lana Banana’s gorgeous art inside the front and back covers (the back inside cover art is the spicy version! 🔥). I think it’s so fun to have extra art inside the book, and I’m hoping to do more limited paperback printings for my shop that you can’t get anywhere else.
