I have the absolute privilege to share another cover reveal with you. This one is for the second Salt Planet Giants book, The Ballast’s Bride.

The couple in this book is one of my favorite I’ve ever written. Hinrivik is a giant bodyguard with a secret mission. Mimma is the spoiled human he’s been hired to protect.

When he’s ordered to deliver her to an arranged marriage across the sea, there’s just one problem…he’s already madly in love with her.

Their vibe includes a lot of playful banter, and I think Phantom Dame really captured that dynamic in the new cover illustration! I swear, she never misses.

Side Note:

I’ve been asked a few times what “ballast” means, so I thought it was worth mentioning here! Ballast is the weight that ships use to properly balance in the water (instead of bobbing around like a pingpong ball on the surface). The tried and true ballast for most of history has been stones.

Our rocky giant Hinrivik is the literal and figurative ballast of the story, providing calm and steady support to his little human while she is going through some stuff on a rather tumultuous sea voyage. Down side of being so weighty: he's pretty bad at swimming! 🩵
