Hey, how’s it going?

This week I had the dubious honor of being summoned for jury duty. I was not selected for a jury, but I spent a whole day in a courthouse waiting room with a bunch of other disgruntled prospective jurors, so it was great people-watching (and kindle-reading) time.

Out of respect for the setting, I read a closed-door romance while I was sitting there for seven hours. Are you shocked? (I am, a little!)

The funny thing is, I’ve been reading (and enjoying) quite a few no-spice romances lately, alternating them with complete filth. I’ve been reading dark post-apoc and fluffy monsters, kinky contemp and prim historicals. I’m not sure why my mood reading is taking me to these extremes, but I’m along for the ride. It’s keeping my dopamine levels high, and I really need that at the moment.
