It's not you, it's me

So, I've never claimed to be the most tech savvy person, although I always sorta thought I did okay. But, apparently, just nope. I tried to be so clever when integrating the lovely new people who joined my email list after the Giveaway celebrating the release of Of Clockworks and Daggers and it was a mistake, because when I went to restart my greeting emails, suddenly my dear long-term subscribers started getting strange welcome emails from me (ones I didn't even write...)
In order to properly apologize, here are some lovely pictures of Prague from the speed tour my husband and I did a couple of weeks ago when we had to go to the big city to sign up for my new language course.
This photo is from just across the Charles Bridge passing from Old Town to the area below Prague castle. it's so pretty and peaceful in contrast to the very crowded bridge.
This light fixture is on the second story of the Starbucks on Wenceslas Square. I always used to stop here for coffee on Prague trips when I was a teacher. It gave me the little taste of home I needed to feel extra cozy.
In other news, Of Clockworks and Daggers is out in the world!!! I'm so excited that it is now available in a variety of formats for all my lovely readers. Personally, I'm ultra excited about the paperback! But it's also available in ebook form, and if you have Kindle Unlimited, you can read it and One Must Die for free!
It can be really challenging to release a book outside of the US. I miss out on being able to do in-person events and I don't have signed copies for people. Since connecting with my readers is one of my absolute favorite parts of the author journey, I feel a strong sense of disconnect. On top of that, being on the other side of the world, I don't get to hold my books right away. I'll confess, it makes the release a wee bit anticlimactic when I don't have the physical copy.
But, happy day, I'll be getting it hand delivered a week from today! Be prepared for lots of pictures of the pretty book, as well as some traveling shenanigans as it will be arriving with two of my sisters! I'll likely be a bit scarce on instagram for the rest of the month as I will be playing tour guide and host.
Not being in the US also means you're stuck with my own version of character art ;p
Besides the joy of company coming, I'm heading into a busy season of editing. I have business clients and several novels lined up over the summer, which means my own writing will be taking a deep dark backseat.
I did manage to wrap up the end of my first draft edits on my next book/series, and got it sent off to my beta readers last week. I'm taking another turn with this one, but keeping it in the YA speculative realm. It's an Urbex (Urban Exploring) WWII time travel mashup, with lots of high stakes, tension, and swoon. My hope is to release it as a serial sometime in the spring of 2026, so be sure to stick around for updates on all of that.
As always, thanks for sticking with me. And if you've stuck around this far, I'd love to hear about a time when technology got the best of you so I don't feel totally alone in my ineptness :D
Until next month,
Sarah
This month I'm excited to introduce you to Brett Armstrong:
Newest Release:
Day Moon (Tomorrow’s Edge Book 1)
BIO:
Brett Armstrong has been exploring other worlds as a writer since age nine. Years later, he still writes, but now invites others along on his excursions. He’s shown readers haunting, deep historical fiction (Destitutio Quod Remissio), scary-real dystopian sci-fi (Tomorrow’s Edge series), and layered, sweeping epic fantasy (Quest of Fire). Every story is a journey of discovery and an attempt to be a brush in the Master Artist’s hand. Through dark, despair, light, joy, and everything in between, the end is always meant to leave his fellow literary explorers with wonder and hope. Always busy with a new story, he also enjoys drawing, gardening, and spending time with his wife and son.
TAGLINE:
One teen holds the past and future’s key.
BOOK BLURB:
A.D. 2039: Prodigious seventeen-year-old, Elliott, is assigned to work on a global software initiative his deceased grandfather helped found. Project Alexandria is intended to provide the entire world secure and equal access to all accumulated human knowledge. All forms of print are destroyed in good faith, to ensure everyone has equal footing, and Elliott knows he must soon part with his final treasure: a book of Shakespeare’s complete works gifted him by his grandfather. Before it is destroyed, Elliott notices something is amiss with the book, or rather Project Alexandria. The two do not match, including an extra sonnet titled “Day Moon.”
